Although Commodore John Barry died over two centuries ago his memory continues to be with us. Over the past 11 years the United States Congress has passed two resolutions to Commodore John Barry, the first in 1991 dedicated a day to his memory, the more recent one has proclaimed Commodore John Barry as the First Flag Officer of the United States Navy.
